My Little Sicky

We've had a rough week.  And Avery has had it the worst.  We got a call Monday that she threw up at school (all over her Calvin Johnson Lions jersey for sports day!).  It got much worse from there.  We ended up bringing her to the doctor yesterday and she was diagnosed with two very bad ear infections and some sort of virus.

The good thing is we know what's up.  The bad thing is that she is quite a delirious/crying/coughing mess.  Has barely ate in a few days, drinks "some" water and milk, refuses to take her medicine, and is really just having a tough go of it.   Her fever did finally seem to break last night.  My poor girl.  Please send some Christmas magic in her direction!

And then there's this guy.  Actually keeping my eye on him since he's been running a slight temp, but with teething (6 teeth at once!) it's hard to tell what the culprit is.  He has been coughing, which is how Aves started, so fingers crossed this guy doesn't come down with something worse.

But I know Avery will get through this. And Holdie too if he comes down with something.  In the big scheme, not so big of a deal.  As my friend just had a true Christmas miracle with her newborn daughter - on oxygen since birth, unable to hold her for the first week or so, outlook so uncertain and we found out yesterday she is breathing on her own, passed all sorts of tests and will get to go home within a week.  That's the big stuff.  That's life stuff.  Two ear infections?  Bring it.

But life is relative, life is about perspective.  And while Avery's recent illness is not massive in proportion, I know this, but as her momma of course I just want to make her better.

Especially in time for Santa.
