Avery was still struggling a bit, but we know Santa doesn't wait. Despite feeling like poo poo, Aves was still pumped to open gifts.
The morning started out pretty well. And present-opening commenced!
Keep your eye on Mr. Holdie in the background....
Yep. Finished off Santa's cookies. While Avery opened all of their gifts. Good work.
And that's where my pictures end. We had a bit of a scare after that, before all of the gifts were even opened. Avery had to go potty and immediately afterwards was not feeling well at all, asked Eric to hold her, and then she actually passed out. It was terrifying. What seemed like a lifetime, was probably 5-8 seconds of her being out, luckily she was in Eric's arms. We immediately laid her down on the couch, she slowly came to, looking as pale as could be. We got her water and crackers and she finally did eat. She continued to eat and drink and we could tell she was getting better. Quite a scare though. Talked to her doctor and they weren't overly concerned since it was due to a combo of being so sick, her medication, not eating or drinking very much (we tried to force her that morning but she refused), and then going potty (it can actually lower your blood pressure). So a combination of all of those factors caused her to pass out for a short period of time that was way too long in my opinion! We had to watch her closely afterwards, but luckily she showed no other concerning signs and actually ate and drank much better for the rest of the day.
So, it will definitely be a Christmas we won't soon forget.
And as I write this, she is pretty much back to normal and loving of all her presents from Santa. But she is wondering where Marcy the Elf went. I had to explain, she's back in the North Pole until next year.
And how sad is that?
