So come Thursday evening, I received a fill up, in a fast and furious manner.
As I'm walking out the door for my girls weekend in Traverse City with the Chicago Five, I get a call that my grandma is in the hospital and it's not looking good.
Fast forward through numerous phone calls and texts, the girls turning around and bringing me back home and organizing logistics for a drive to Grand Rapids. We left yesterday morning with a route directly to the hospital.
The Chicago Van Cleef's made the trip (Eric stayed home with the kiddos) and Jonas drove in from Detroit. We all came together.
Long story short, Grandma is ok. But just ok. We're not sure what the future will hold. But we got a chance to hold her hand, give her hugs and just let her know we love her beyond measure. I just hope she can remember it. Regardless, I know she felt it.
And that was my major dose of perspective. Life is fragile. We all know this. But when it comes to our loved ones there is nothing more important.
Please keep my grandma in your prayers.
