What was an issue was my dedication to potty training! It's a heck of a lot more work for the parents then the kiddos!! We had made some pretty good progress and I would say that she was about 90% potty trained this fall.
And then....
her little brother was born.
I knew that many kids regress during this time period (in many ways) so I had prepped myself for it. And with her not being 100% there, my ability to train and work with her with a newborn around was going to be quite limited. Per the advice of our pediatrician, we backed off completely and went back to diapers. She said to do it for a couple months at least and then start over.
So less than a couple weeks ago I decided it was time to give this potty thing another try.
And we went naked. Avery that is. And really bottomless to be precise.
I've been hesitant to write about this to avoid jinxing anything. But I think it's safe to say that Avery has made tremendous progress! She actually started off really well and had only a handful of accidents in the beginning. It's a good thing I have dogs. Pee and poop on the floor don't even phase me. :)
We still use diapers for naps and nightime and going out in public too (just to be safe for now). But other than that, we are diaper free! I'm just hoping this sticks!!
Avery's outfits have been quite something during this potty training period. It's been so cold that I don't want her completely bare bottomed. So we have to get creative and "make it work".
