Tigers Game

With gametime at 7:10pm, Avery opted to stay home for the Tigers game. As we were listening to the National Anthem, she was already getting cozy and ready for bed. They were a good number of Tiger fans at US Cellular Field and that fact that it was the same time as the Stanley Cup final game (that would cinch the win for Chicago - boo) probably helped. The weather was perfect - low 70's and sunny. Just the type of evening for a baseball game.

The little guy's first MLB game. First of many I am sure.

Tommy Lasorda. He's huge. As in is his stomach.

The Field Museum's "Sue the T-rex" catching the first pitch. It was pretty funny actually.

Jake's favorite player - Cabrera.

This Tigers' fan gave us a laugh. And received a ton of boo's.

So the Tigers got killed. We ended up leaving when it was 8-3 but when we got home, we saw the score was then 15-3. It was pretty horrible. We still had a great time and had great seats, and one thing that made the evening more enjoyable was the group in front of us. It was a company outing and these guys were ridiculous. No joke, their "leader" was exactly like Michael Scott from The Office.

When they arrived at their seats he announced that he had no idea who any of the players were and didn't know their names. And then proceeded to become the biggest White Sox fan you'll ever meet. Screaming, whooping, hollering like an 8-year old. I have never seen so many fist bumps in my life from a group of 40-somethings. Whenever a female would walk by, they would all look at each other, nod slowly like they were saying "uh huh", and then do a fist bump to each other. The leader even participated in every dance song along with all of the 12 and under in attendance. Tried his hardest to get on the "dance cam". He was amazing. So that definitely softened the blow of getting crushed by the Sox. I didn't know people like Michael Scott existed in real life. Maybe Hollywood doesn't have it all wrong after all.
