First Days

I'm going a little out of order here, and have more pics to still get to, but today is fresh on my mind.

Avery's first day of school.

Maybe I'm being dramatic, it is only 3 Year Preschool, but the day still felt important to me.  And I'm sure to my girl as well.

I know this is just one of many "first days".  One more little milestone to take note of.

She's only three (four is quickly creeping around the corner) but she'll be in school four mornings a week.  I debate whether or not that's too much, but she loves it, and she embraces routine and schedule.    And I think the socialization is so beneficial for her.

St. Joe's is preschool through 8th grade so I think that makes it feel a little bigger as well.  It's not just a preschool.  We're kinda entering the big time.  Like we are real parents with real kids at a real school.  And that's scary!  Avery was in the 2Y program last year for a few months but this start of school thing brings a whole bunch of events - new parents night, meet the teachers night, first day coffee, preschool meet and greet night, parent info night.  Oh, and yes, we will have parent teachers conferences too!  So yes, here's the gist - we're old, we have kids, and we live in the suburbs.  We are basically our parents.  :)

So a first day - big for our girl and big for us.   Every milestone makes my heart want to jump out of my chest for my girl.  The word "love" doesn't explain it well enough.

We celebrated the first day of school with cupcakes of course.

Now, I can't even think about my little guy's first day of school.  Tears will be a flowin'.
